This policy has been in place forever. It is unfortunate that after 14+ years we feel we must publish this page to be clear.
Our goal is for our pups to go to their forever home on the first try. Sadly, this isn't always the case. Life sometimes gets in the way. We do understand this, although we don't like it.
Our pups are always welcome back, no matter their age. We do not want them in a shelter or bounced around from place to place.
We do not do cash refunds on our dogs - period. It's part of the health agreement - and it is bonded by our attorney. It isn't our fault if you can no longer care for or become unwilling to care for him/her.
At the time of surrender, you must sign a form relinquishing all rights and interests in the pup/dog. This is so we can have the microchip (if chipped) put into our name as well as gain the veterinary information on the pup/dog and see how he/she has been cared for, what shots have been given, etc.
The pup is once again our property and responsibility. However, any remaining vet bills, pet boarding bills, etc prior to when you signed him over are still the responsibility of the former owner.
We will then reassess them on an individual basis, and then decide whether to keep the dog ourselves, adopt out after having them spayed/neutered, or to re-sell. We are only focused on the best interest of the dog in question, not whether or not it hurts your feelings.
While you are welcome to email and check on him/her, we reserve the right to withhold final disposition of the dog.
IF one of our puppies who have a chip happen to end up at the pound and we are contacted after attempts have been made to contact you - we will go repo him/her, and he/she will not be returned unless there are extenuating circumstances.
